Unlock Your Future in Microelectronics at the POEMS Semiconductor Spring School!
Are you ready to explore the frontiers of microelectronics and semiconductors? The 2026 POEMS Semiconductor Spring School, 6-10 April at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, is a completely free, five-day program hosted by the Portuguese Competence Centre in Semiconductors (POEMS). It’s designed for STEM students eager to dive into Chip Design, Advanced Packaging, and Emerging Technologies.
Be sure to catch a special presentation on Day 4 (Thursday, 9 April at 10:00 AM) by Pedro Rito, who will introduce the IEEE HART (Hardware for AI, Research, & Talent-building) initiative. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to connect with industry experts, discover international tech trends, and learn how you can get involved in building the next generation of hardware.
Student Competition for Sensors Applications!
The IEEE Sensors Council, a HART collaborator, is hosting a MYOSA (Make Your Own Sensors Applications) competition that will culminate at IEEE FLEPS & IEEE BioSensors 2026. This contest challenges teams of undergraduate and postgraduate students to design and develop innovative, sensor-based applications. Selected teams will receive free hardware (the MYOSA motherboard and sensor boards) to build their working prototypes. Note the deadline of 31 March 2026, to submit your Expression of Interest and Ideation Proposal.
